Gobo's (Graphical Optical Black Out) can be used to project a background, image or logotype on any surface you want. They are used in a moving head or profile spot. Gobo's were already used in the sixties and were cut by hand out of metal. Glass gobo's were used for the first time in the early eighties, and are made out of borosilicate glass with a metal coating.
Glass gobo's exist in 2 versions: B/W and full-color (dichroid gobo's). The last ones consist 4 heat resistant layers and do not fade.
There are different sizes of gobo's depending on the fixture type and brand you are going to use it in. But there is one rule: the bigger the gobo, the more detailled the image will be.
